"The FC vehicle was on its routine patrol from Awaran to Lesbela on the national highway when it was hit by the explosives planted by miscreants," he said. More troops rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area after the explosion.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deceased were identified as Shaiq Ahmed, Rajab Khan and Khushal Khan and injured as Fida Ahmed, Kursheed Ahmed, Najeebullah and Bismillah.
The Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility of the attack.

It may be recalled here that Awaran district was severally hit by earthquake last year that claimed over 1,000 lives and rendered thousands others homeless. Awaran is said to be one of the highly sensitive districts of the Balochistan where insurgency is rife as it is also hometown of Baloch guerrilla fighter Dr Allah Nazar.
