QUETTA- Three Frontier Corps personnel were killed and four others injured when the explosives planted by miscreants went off in Awaran district on Friday.
FC spokesperson Muhammed Wasay confirmed the death toll and said that two of the injured are in critical condition.
"The FC vehicle was on its routine patrol from Awaran to Lesbela on the national highway when it was hit by the explosives planted by miscreants," he said. More troops rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area after the explosion.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deceased were identified as Shaiq Ahmed, Rajab Khan and Khushal Khan and injured as Fida Ahmed, Kursheed Ahmed, Najeebullah and Bismillah.
The Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility of the attack.
Balochistan Assembly Deputy Speaker and MPA from Awaran, Abdul Qadoos Bezinjo condemned the attack. Speaking in the Balochistan assembly, he said the security forces were busy providing relief work when they were attacked by the militants in Awaran.
It may be recalled here that Awaran district was severally hit by earthquake last year that claimed over 1,000 lives and rendered thousands others homeless. Awaran is said to be one of the highly sensitive districts of the Balochistan where insurgency is rife as it is also hometown of Baloch guerrilla fighter Dr Allah Nazar.

SUSPENDS GAS SUPPLY
INP adds: Unidentified miscreants blasted a pipeline that supplies gas to Shikarpur and Quetta, resulting in suspension of the supply to several districts of Balochistan.
Police said the miscreants blasted the pipeline in Pat Feeder area. After the blast, the security forces reached the site and started search for the miscreants. The SSGCL officials also arrived at the venue and started repair work.
