HEAD MARALA (Sialkot)-The two-day long water sports and family festival which concluded here at Head Marala on Sunday lured a massive crowd to the banks of River Chenab. A large number of families belonging to Gujranwala Division’s all six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala eagerly witnessed the water sports, besides, participating in the family festival organised jointly by Pakistan Navy, Rescue 1122 and the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation along the banks of River Chenab near Head Marala-Sialkot.The scorching hot weather and power outages-beaten people thronged there to spend the holiday while enjoying water sports and family festival by leaving their worries behind. The people were much delighted to watch the water sports as teams of some Lahore-based private boating clubs also participated in these games.Omani Ambassador in Pakistan Muhammad Riaz Yousuf Muhammad Raeesani was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Later, the senior officials of Pak Navy, TDCP and Rescue 1122 distributed prizes amongst the winning teams of the water sports, besides, announcing making the water sports gala as a regular annual event to be held at Head Marala-Sialkot.MINOR HANDED OVER TO MOTHER: The Sialkot Police have recovered the minor child sold out by his father after separation from his wife over domestic disputes.A local woman Sonia Rani had submitted a writ petition to District and Sessions Judge Ameer Muhammad Khan, requesting the court to recover her four-month-old son Husnain Ali from her former husband Qaisar Mehmood, accusing him snatching the child from her after her separation from the family four months ago.The court ordered the Hajipura Police to recover the child and produce him in the court. The police arrested Qaisar Mehmood who told the police investigator that the child had died. However, during the traditional-style investigation, the accused told the police that he had sold out his four-month-old son Husnain Ali for Rs100,000 to a person namely Zeeshan Aslam.Later, the police recovered the minor and produced him in the court. Later, the court handed over the child to his mother. The Hajipura Police have registered a case against Qaisar and Zeeshan Aslam for selling and buying the child.
