KARACHI- The Taliban are prepared to announce ceasefire at any time today, said Maulana Yousaf Shah, spokesman of the Taliban-nominated dialogue committee.

He said that the announcement would be made by the Taliban and not by the dialogue committee; however, he did not confirm the source the Taliban would use for the announcement.

To a question, he said currently there are no formal contacts between the government and the Taliban talks committees but soon after the Taliban announcement, the contacts shall resume.
