‘Impartial probe to prove rigging charges against N wrong’

PESHAWAR - Keeping in view the Supreme Court verdict in Asghar Khan case, the PPP leadership should stop making rampant corruption in all government departments and tender apology to the masses instead of leveling allegations against PML-N leaders.
“The incumbent PPP corrupt rulers allegedly trapped Sharif brothers into a case,” PML-N local leader and party former organiser in district Charsada, Ifitkhar Ahmad, said while addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday. He said the PPP should not celebrate the apex court verdict, as the impartial inquiry would prove the allegation of rigging against the PML-N leadership in the 1990 general elections as baseless.
He also said that the incumbent PPP-led rulers were equally responsible for rampant corruption in all the government departments, adding the rulers will have to return the ‘stolen national wealth’ to national kitty before the next general elections.
Iftikhar also asked PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari to close down his ‘political cell’ in the President House, as the superior judiciary has categorically it unconstitutional and in violation of the court verdicts.
He vowed that PML-N would take the country out of the existing crisis like situation through electoral powers.
He also urged his own party leadership to discourage turncoats and bring the real leadership in front.
