KARACHI- President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed Condolence over the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy. During a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador to United States Sherry Rehman at Bilawal House on Wednesday, the president expressed grief over the loss of lives and huge destruction to the property.Sympathising with the affected people,he wished their quick rehabilitation.The president inquired about the situation of the Pakistani community living in the affected areas and advised the ambassador to provide all possible help to them. Designated ambassadors of Hungry, Jordan, Belgium, Uzbekistan, Oman, USA and the high commissioner of Canada presented their credentials to the president at a ceremony held at the Governor’s House Karachi.The ambassadors and high commissioner, after presenting their credentials, separately called on the president and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.The president, while felicitating the newly appointed ambassadors,hoped that they would work for cementing the existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.At the arrival of all the envoys at the Governor’s House, national anthems of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and a Pakistan Army contingent presented a guard of honour to envoys.
