Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khattak, has said that the KPK government has decided to strengthen the Donors Coordination Cell (DCC) established at CM Secretariat Peshawar to put the province on the path to progress and prosperity.
The cell is being mandated to simplify the investment procedures under one window operation system, he added. "We are removing all the bureaucratic bottlenecks and redtapism in our investment and development policies so that the genuine international donor agencies are able to work freely for the development of the province," the Chief Minster clarified while talking to journalists at his Nowshera residence. Focal Person of DCC and Chairman of Chief Minister's Complaint Cell Dilroz Khan, Pervez Khattak's Principal Secretary Muhammad Ashfaq Khan and his Advisor on Excise & Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin were also present on the occasion.
Pervez Khattak said that the provincial government has set targets in various departments including education, health, industry, commerce, women empowerment, hydropower generation, irrigation, cleanliness, sanitation, supply of drinking water, and environment while the strategy would start yielding positive results in near future. He said that various uplift projects designed for the welfare of people would be completed with the judicious use of donor's funds to improve their standard of life. However he clarified that no conditionalities contrary to any interests of the people and the province would be accepted.
"After coming into power, the PTI-led provincial government rejected the obsolete system and devised a comprehensive plan for the transparent and judicious use of donors funds to benefit the masses," the Chief Minister said.
He said the donor agencies would now straightaway contact the DCC at CM Secretariat for executing projects in any sectors instead of looking for the concerned departments. Similarly he said competent officials would be sent abroad to get proper training for carrying out uplift projects in the province.
"Khyber Pakhtunkhwa suffered a lot due to militancy, terrorism, displacement and natural disasters. Our industry is on the verge of collapse. We have taken it as a challenge to revive sick industrial units by making investment in power generation, coal, gas sectors and other natural resources," Pervez Khattak remarked. He said he has imposed ban on unnecessary foreign tours of government officials to curtail govt expenditures and help divert funds to public sector development.
12 MASTER TRAINERS OF POLICE, PROSECUTION DEPTS TRAINED: In order to improve skills of police and prosecution, five-day course training for 12 trainers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and prosecution departments concluded on Sunday.
This was the second training of master trainers for the purpose which was organised by KPK Home Department in collaboration with Aitebaar programme on this occasion, Dr Osama Siddique, a well renowned professor of law and policy, conducted the training exercise.
The training focused on improving the teaching skills of existing police and prosecution master trainers through case studies, simulation exercises, presentations, group discussions and lectures on teaching methodology. This will equip the master trainers with specialised training skills, techniques and resource materials to conduct further trainings, and go on to train other trainers in their respective Government departments.
Aitebaar is a peace building support programme (PSP) funded by DFID that works closely with KPK government and supports it to implement its peace building strategy in the province.
