QUETTA – A truck driver was killed and three others injured in a firing incident in Notal area Friday
According to Levies sources, about two dozen armed men riding motorcycles ambushed various passenger vehicles and trucks with heavy weapons in Notal Police Station limits.
As a result, a driver identified as Khan Muhammad was killed on the spot and three others Ziaul Haq, Jaffar Kakar and Muhammad Aziz Kakar sustained serious injuries. DSP Haji Ali Akbar Magsi along with a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased and injured to nearby hospital.
Sources said that an exchange of fire also took place between the police and armed men which continued for sometime. However, the assailants managed to escape from the scene.
The police and other law enforcement agencies started search operation in the area.
Meanwhile, police recovered a dead body from Eastern Bypass here and shifted it to hospital for autopsy. However, identity of the body could not establish immediately.
