NOORPUR THAL - The tehsil remained in the grip of severe cold and foggy weather, bringing the life to a standstill as low visibility caused closure of traffic and business activities.
The fog started falling in the evening and become so dense at midnight that the visibility reduced to zero in open areas of Thal.
Dense fog also disturbed traffic as reduced visibility hampered vehicular movement on different roads, especially from midnight to 12 at noon. Harsh weather conditions forced the people to stay indoors wrapped in woollies and blankets to keep their bodies warm.
According to local observatory system, continental air prevails in several villages of Thal.
Local Meteorological Department has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Thal with moderate to dense fog in the morning and at night during the next 2-3 days.
