ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested 29 persons including two foreigner women for their alleged involvement in immoral activities, bootlegging and theft incidents besides recovering 193 wine bottles, stolen items worth Rs500,000 from them. On a tip-off, Station House Officer of Shalimar Police Station Khalid Mehmud Awan constituted a special team under the supervision of ASI Saleem Raza, which raided at House No.8, Sunbal Road, Sector F-10/3 and arrested 15 persons including five women. Two of these women Aarzo and Aman hail from a foreign country while others were identified as Samra, Asia, Saba, Fiaz Hussain, Umer Asif, Saboor ur Rehman, Javed ur Rehman, Zahid Basheer, Naseem Shah, Said Ali, Hashim, Arif and Ahmed Firdous. Meanwhile, ASI Mazhar Iqbal from CID Police Islamabad arrested two bootleggers Sajjad and Azad for having 193 wine bottles. Bhara Kahu, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi and Shalimar Police Station also arrested ten suspects during a search operation in their respective areas. Margalla police nabbed two thieves Ejaz Ahmed, Ameer Ali and recovered stolen items worth Rs2,500 from their possession. SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has appreciated the performance of those policemen who nabbed these persons and directed police officials to further intensify the efforts against anti-social elements.
