329 candidates file nomination papers for Mardan elections


MARDAN – More then 329 candidates have filed their nomination papers for three National and seven provincial assemblies seats in Mardan. 
Total of 9,90,048 registered voters, including 5,79,514 male and 4,10,534 female voters, existed in Mardan.
The Election Commission will establish 754 polling stations and 1864 poling booths all over the district for polling votes. The Commission will appoint more than 11,184 poling staff for polling day.
Former chief minister KPK Ameer Haider Khan Hoti filed the nomination papers for the National Assembly seat NA-9, Mardan-1 and provincial assembly seat PK-23 in the district.
For the NA-9, 28 candidates have filed their nomination papers and will contest election against Haider Hoti that include female candidate of PPP Shazia Auranzeb, Maulana Shujaul Mulak on the JUI-F ticket, Attaur Rehman on the JI ticket, Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti on the PML-N ticket.
For the NA-10, 22 candidates have filed nomination papers that include Mulana Mohammad Qasim on the JUI-F ticket, Nawabzada Abdul Qadar Khan on the PPP ticket, Mohammad Farooq Akram Khan on the ANP ticket, Sultan Mohammad on the JI, Ali Ahmed on the PTI, Naseem Khan on the PML-N and Fayaz Khan on the JUP ticket.
For the NA-11, 25 candidates have filed their nomination papers that include Khanzada Khan on the PPP ticket, Inayat Khan on the ANP ticket, Mufti Imdadullah on the JUI-F, Mujahid Khan on the PTI, Gul Nawaz Khan on the JI and Sher Afgan Khan on the PML-N ticket. 
For the PK-23, 40 candidates have filed their nomination papers and will contest election against Haider Hoti, on the PPP ticket, PPP District President Khan Khawas Khan advocate, Ikramullah Shahid on the JUI-S ticket, Mufti Ajmal Khan on the JUI-F ticket, Umar Farooq Khan son of former federal minister Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti on the PML-N ticket, Umar Farooq on the PTI ticket.
For the PK-24, 36 candidates have filed their nomination papers that include disgruntled former MPA of ANP Haji Ahmed Khan Bahadur, as independent candidate, PPP Divisional President and former provincial minister Abdus Samad Khan Toru on the PPP ticket, former MPA Maulana Amant Shah on the JUI-F, Zahid Durani on the PTI, Ali Khan on the ANP ticket and Nawabzada Arsala Khan on the PML-N ticket.
For the PK-25, 26 candidate have filed their nomination papers that include former MPA of ANP Ghani Dad Khan on ANP ticket, Zeeshan Khan son of Khanzada Khan on the PPP ticket, Obaid Khan Mayar on the PTI ticket, Bakhtawar Khan nephew of Ghani Dad Khan on the PML-N ticket, Israr-ul-Haq former MPA of the JUI-F on the JUI ticket, Malak Ayaz JUI-F disgruntled office-bearer as independent candidate.
For the PK-26, 30 candidates have filed nomination papers that include former provincial minister Iftkhar Khan Mohmand on the PML-N ticket, Sheir Afghan Khan on the PPP ticket, Malak Ijaz on the ANP ticket, Mian Nadir Shah on the JI, Kishwar Khan on the JUI-F, Iftikhar Mashwani on the PTI ticket.
For the PK-27, 39 candidates have filed their nomination papers that include Asad Khan son of former senior minister Raheem Dad Khan on the PPP ticket, Shahid Khan on the JUI-F ticket, Bahadur Khan on the ANP ticket, engineer Adil Nawaz on the PTI ticket, Amjid Khan on the JUI-F and Fazl-e-Rabani on the JI ticket.
For the PK- 28, 18 candidates have filed nomination papers that  include ex-provincial minister and ex-MPA of JUI-F Hafiz Akhtar Ali on the JUI-F ticket, Gohar Bacha on the ANP ticket, Umar Khatab Bacha on the PTI ticket, Sikandar Khan on the PML-N ticket, Azeem ud Din on the JI ticket.
For the PK-29, 24 candidates have filed nomination papers that include Shah Roh Khan on the PTI ticket, Idreess Bacha on ANP, Haji Tawos Khan on JUI-F ticket, Akhtar Nawaz on PML-N ticket, Ibrahim Biland on JI and Abdul Akbar Khan  on PPP ticket.
For the PK-30, 41 candidates have filed nomination papers that include Taj ul Amin Jabal on the JUI-F ticket, Imtiyaz Shahghi on the PPP ticket, Haji Litaf Gul on the ANP ticket, Atif Khan on the PTI ticket, Azam Khan on the PML-N ticket.
The religious and political parties have accelerated their election campaign in the district and started door-to-door campaign and corner meetings.
Due to the security threats, former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti arranged meetings and gatherings of party workers of different union councils at his residence. However, the ANP office- bearers have started campaign for him in his constituencies.
Observers said that tough competition will be expected among Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), JUI-F, PML-N and PTI all over the district in upcoming elections.
