Banned outfits infiltrate Punjab Police

LAHORE- Members of banned outfits have infiltrated Punjab police and operating with full impunity.

One of the members of such an outfit was arrested by Lahore police who made startilng revelations. Traffic Warden Mohammad Azam revealed that he joined banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) two years back, and was assigned to conduct recce as well as shipments of arms and ammo. Lahore police have conducted series of raids after interrogation from Moahmmad Azam, and rounded up 12 more suspects, belonging to banned outfits. Police sources told that the suspects were being interrogated about killings of religious figures like Dr Shakir Ali, Allama Nasir Abbas and Asghar Nadeem Syed. Besides these, massive screen of police force including those of traffic wardens was underway across Punjab, sources added.
