Man held over murder

LAKKI MARWAT - Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a blind murder case of a driver and arrested a man, besides recovering the snatched motorcar.
On the night of March 20, unknown armed men killed a taxi driver Sharif Khan after snatching his motorcar near Malang Adda on Indus Highway, said a police official. He said that the killers escaped with the motorcar spreading a wave of unrest and fear in the area.
"Local police took the blind murder case of taxi driver as a challenge and a special team formed by DPO Ismail Kharak started investigation on scientific lines," he maintained. The official said that evidence collected from the site of incident and information gathered from different sources helped investigators trace the case.
He said that the law enforcers arrested a man Kalimullah near Ghaznikhel who confessed committing the murder of taxi driver Sharif Khan along with other accomplices. During initial interrogation, he said, the arrested culprit Kalimullah also disclosed the names of accomplices and gave clue to the police about the snatched motorcar. "Later police authorities sent a special team to Kohat which recovered the motorcar of deceased driver Sharif Khan from Jarma area of Kohat district," he said.
