GHIZER (INP) - Downpour wreaked havoc as flash flood in Singal Nullah swept several bridges, scores of fruit orchards, standing crops and a powerhouse here Tuesday. According to sources, thunderstorm and lighting left a large number of rare species of trout dead in the nullah, inflicting damage to the business of locals. They said the flooded nullah washed away several link bridges, inundated fertile lands, destroyed standing crops and swept fruit trees while a powerhouse was destroyed, suspending electricity supply to several areas. The sources said the restoration of electricity supply would take several days. After the flood, the district administration officials reached the area and kicked off rescue activities.
