ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf telephoned Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Leader of the Opposition in NA on Thursday and assured him of all possible support and cooperation in resolution of outstanding issues through mutual understanding.
In his conversation, he appreciated the role of Ch. Nisar as Leader of the Opposition and expressed the confidence that all issues between the government and the Opposition would be resolved in spirit of understanding.
According to the sources, the conversation between the two leaders focused on the current political scenario in the country and bilateral cooperation between the two sides.
Nisar had tried to dispel the impression that both the government and the Opposition were working on the same process.
He told a Press conference on Wednesday about his plans of starting consultations with Opposition parties about a caretaker Prime Minister and had made it clear that he would not consult any member of the parties constituting the ruling coalition, including the JUI-F.
However, when approached Ch. Nisar Ali Khan told The Nation that it was a routine call and Prime Minister inquired about his well-being.
