NAB recovers Rs72m in illegal purchase of land case for DI Khan BISE

PESHAWAR - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recovered Rs72.00 million through voluntary return in the case of illegal purchase of land executed by ex-officials Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Dera Ismail Khan from the land owner, while inquiry against the board officials, who are responsible for this illegal purchase, is under process.
National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received a complaint from the provincial government against ex-officials of BISE D.I.Khan and others regarding Corruption and Corrupt practices in acquisition/purchase of land for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dera Ismail Khan office. Director General National Accountability Bureau Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took cognizance and constituted an inquiry team under Ghazi Rahman, Additional Director to conduct investigation.
During inquiry it was established that, Ex-official of BISE, Dera Ismail Khan in connivance with revenue officials and a private land owner, purchased an unsuitable land in sheer violation of land acquisition Act 1984 at exorbitant rates of Rs72.00 Million, causing huge loss to the state exchequer.
The land even after purchase was never transferred or mutated in the name of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Dera Ismail Khan for obvious malafide intentions.
During inquiry, owner of the land availed the option of  voluntary return u/s 25 A of National Accountability Ordinance, and deposited Rs72.00 million with National Accountability Bureau (KP) authorities. 
National Accountability Bureau (KPK) Inquiry Team also held a meeting with Commissioner, Dera Ismail Khan Division and Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) to facilitate the land acquisition for Dera Ismail Khan Board, preferably a Government land at nearby location to safeguard the public money and facilitate the general public, visiting the Board offices.
