PESHAWAR - Provincial Vice Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman has said that the deteriorated law and order situation in the country has severely affected the masses psychologically while the government is reluctant to implement the unanimous resolution of the parliament regarding taking action against criminals and stopping drone attacks.
“JUI will not tolerate the US drone attacks as well as military operations in FATA,” Atta said said while addressing the General council meeting of his party here at his party provincial secretariat on Sunday.
Provincial Ameer Shiekh Amanullah Haqqani, former Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, JUI Ameer for Balochistan Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani, Maulana Mohammad Qasim, Sahibzada Sahibjan, Fazl Ali, Information Secretary Abdul Jalil Jan and others were present on the occasion.
Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman said that so far JUI has not contacted any political party for seat adjustment and party alliance, however, some political parties have expressed their wish for seat adjustment with JUI. He said that after the restoration of MMA, the re-organization process has been initiated and in this regard the last that has been fixed 15 December of this year.
He suggested Jamaat-e-Islami to join MMA before December 15 as the alliance of religious political parties is the need of hour. He added that JUI would also launch public contact campaign from January 1 to 7 aimed to appraise the masses regarding the JUI mission and preparation for the upcoming election.
He said on December 16 JUI will hold grand public meeting for FATA elders, in which 4000 religious Ulema would participate while on December 09, another function would be held at the residence of Maulana Qasim.
Regarding Lahore high court decision on Kala Bagh Dam, Maulana said that this issue is political not a judicial one and the court of law should not interfere in such controversial issues.
