ISLAMABAD (APP) - Federal Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira on Sunday said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement will return as coalition partner of the government. Talking to state-run TV, he said the reservations of MQM would be removed and hoped that the party would continue with the government as a coalition partner. At this stage, MQM has taken its position but it does not mean that dialogue process with the party is over, he said, hoping MQM will rejoin the government. To a question, he said that every legislation is made in the interest of the people and all parties including opposition take part in the process. He said despite the opposition parties presence in the parliament, 95 percent of legislation was unanimous. To a question about no- confidence motion from the opposition, he said, We have been saying that if any party proves its majority in the parliament, it can form the government and we will welcome them. But, it is too premature to say anything, he added. To a question, he said petroleum prices are increasing not only in Pakistan, rather it is a worldwide phenomenon, adding that the government does not fix the petroleum prices as these are adjusted under a set formula by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (ORGA), which is an autonomous body. He further said, The economic situation of the country is evident to everyone and we invite all political parties to give proposals on how this international trend can be averted in the country. The government will take along all political parties and if any party proves its majority it will have the democratic right to form the government, he added. He said the government is taking decisions in the best interest of the country despite that these are not politically beneficial for the government. He urged the political parties to forge greater unity in their ranks and set aside their differences for the sake of the country.
