SHERGARH - The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has condemned the ruthless killing of 18 people in Kohistan and termed it an abhorrent act of the anti-state elements.
In a meeting convened to condemn the loss of precious life, ASWJ President Mian Amjad Salim said that it could not be the act of any ‘Muslim’ as Islam is a religion of peace and strives for promoting religious harmony. Terming the cold blood massacre a conspiracy of the anti-Pakistan forces to divide the nation on sectarian lines, he said the people of Pakistan were well aware of the dangers confronting the country and would foil such conspiracies with unity and Islamic teachings of peace and brotherhood. He urged the government to spare no effort to track the culprits of such heinous crime and expose the faces of ‘enemies of the country’. Later, the participants offered fateha for the departed souls and prayed that Allah might rest the departed souls in peace.
As many as, 18 Shia passengers were hauled off from four buses bound from Rawalpindi to Gilgit and gunned down by armed men in army uniform in Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.
