ISLAMABAD - In the backdrop of courts decision in Salman Taseer murder case, different religious parties have enhanced their contacts with one another to evolve future strategy on this matter. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan, President Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), Dr Sahibzada Abu Al-Khair Muhammad Zubair, Qari Zawar Bhadarm, Sajid Naqvi and other religious parties chiefs have contacted one another to mull over the situation, said a JUI-F leader, desiring not to be named. In order to discuss this matter in detail further contacts and meetings are also expected in near future, he added. It may be mentioned here that an anti-terrorism court (ATC) Saturday awarded death sentence to Malik Mumtaz Hussain Qadri in the murder case of former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer. Talking to TheNation, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said that religio-political parties had contacted one another. In order to evolve strategy in this regard contacts would be enhanced in near future, he added. The JI leader said that although decision of the court has been announced yet implementation on this decision could further increase anxiety and unrest. He suggested rulers to avoid adopting extreme steps on this issue. When contacted, Dr. Sahibzada Abu Al-Khair Muhammad Zubair said that soon a meeting of 'Tehreek-e-Namoos Risalat would be held to discuss the issue in detail. Reportedly, religious parties including Sunni Tehrik, Tehrik-i-Islam Pakistan, Jamia-e-Rizwiya Ziaul Uloom, Shahab-i-Islami Pakistan, Anjuman Tulba-i-Islam and other have announced to stage protest against the verdict.
