Hundreds storm Lesco Office

KASUR - Hundreds of residents stormed the Lesco Office in Khudian on Wednesday to vent their rage over the hours-long loadshedding. Police used batoncharge to disperse the angry protesters. Over 500 people led by a local, Muhammad Amin, gathered at the Khudian bus stop, blocked Deepalpur Road and torched tyres, suspending traffic for hours. Heavy contingent of police, led by DSP (City Circle) Muhammad Azam, reached the spot. The protesters raised slogans against the government for continuing loadshedding during the holy month of Ramazan. Later, the angry protesters ransacked the Lesco Office, about one kilometre from the bus stop. They hurled stones at the office building, burnt official record and two vehicles parked outside the office. They staged a sit-in front of the grid station. Police batoncharged the protesters when they refused to disperse.
