BA session lasts for 3 minutes

QUETTA - The session of the Balochistan Assembly continued only for three minutes here on Monday and was adjourned till Tuesday (today).Interior Minister Rehman Malik was expected to reach Quetta and give an in-camera briefing to the members of the Balochistan Assembly over law and order situation in the province.However, sources said that he could not turn up in Quetta due to some reasons after which the Assembly session was adjourned.Deputy Speaker Syed Matiullah Agha chaired the session which was attended by Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, Home Minister Mir Zafar Zehri, Provincial Finance Minister Mir Asim Kurd Gailo and other important Ministers of the provincial Cabinet.It may be mentioned here that Speaker Balochistan Assembly Muhammad Aslam Bhootani had refused to preside over the session of BA after the interim order of Supreme Court, until the position of provincial Chief Minister and provincial government was cleared. Electronic and print media were not allowed inside the House as happens in in-camera sessions and all the Assembly passes of the media were cancelled. However, the media kept on reporting from outside the premises of the House.On other hand, before his departure to Karachi at Quetta Airport, Aslam Bhootani told newspersons that his stance was known to everyone therefore, he did not preside over the session of Balochistan Assembly. He said that he had no personal dispute with Balochistan government, however, he wanted the Balochistan govt’s position clear after the interim order of the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Parliamentary leader of JUI-F in Balochistan Assembly and senior Provincial Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay clarified that JUI-F had decided that it would not become a part of any non-confidence motion against Balochistan Assembly Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani. “JUI-F wants the current set up to continue,” he added. He said situation of Balochistan was not deteriorating at provincial level rather it was deteriorating at international level and due to interference of Centre. He said that everybody knows that how much Interior Minister Rehman Malik gives importance to Balochistan.He expressed these views while talking to journalists after Assembly’s session here.Wasay said that his party had decided that the incumbent Provincial Assembly should continue. “JUI-F will not become a part of any non-confidence motion against Speaker Bhootani,” he added. He said that we from very first day stating that Balochistan was being subjected to injustices even Federal government itself committed excesses against the province.He further said that JUI-F had reservations over the situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa.  “JUI-F had decided that if Rehman Malik comes to the Assembly session it would bring a motion to ask for continuing the proceedings till next Friday so that Rehman Malik would also remove our reservations but he did not turn up,” he added.He said that Supreme Court after interim order on Balochistan during its hearing had directed Balochistan government to ensure law and order.
