President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the restoration of law and order situation and the protection of lives and property of the citizens in the metropolitan city is the priority of the government. This he said during a meeting with a delegation comprising Sindh Cabinet members here at Aiwan-e-Sadr Friday. The delegation included Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Sindh, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Nawabzada Mir Nadir Ali Khan Magsi, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Jam Saifullah Khan Dharejo, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar and Ms. Shazia Marri. Mr. Nisar ahmed Khoro, Syed Khursheed Shah, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Mr. Islam-ud-Din Sheikh, Nawab Ali Wasan, Mir Ijaz Hussain Jakhrani and Mr. Gul Muhammad Jakhrani were also present during the meeting. He directed that all law-violators be brought to books regardless of any consideration for their affiliations, if any. The President reiterated his call that the situation in Lyari needs to be tackled both by use of force against the miscreants and through political means. He said that effective redressal of the genuine problems of development was also important to bring law and order under control. The President also emphasized upon the need for all the political forces to join hands against criminals for restoring complete law and order in the metropolis. The President advised the provincial ministers to reach out to the people and help in redressal of their issues. He also hosted lunch for the participants of the meeting. Earlier, the Chief Minister also briefed the President about ongoing developmental projects in Sindh especially in Karachi. The Sindh Chief Minister apprised the President of the efforts underway to control law and order situation in Lyari.
