ISLAMABAD  – Some 196 members of the National Assembly, the Senate and provincial assemblies have not yet submitted affidavits to affirm that they do not hold dual nationality.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) sources, 10 members of the National Assembly and 56 Senators have not submitted the affidavits.
Similarly, 34 members of the Punjab Assembly, 84 members of the Sindh Assembly, 10 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and two from the Balochistan Assembly have also failed to submit the affidavits.
According to sources, the lawmakers who fail to submit their affidavits by November 9, would be considered dual nationals.
The Supreme Court had earlier suspended the membership of several legislators in the dual nationality case.
