QUETTA - At least 13 employees of Uch Power Plant were kidnapped by a militant group in Nasirabad district on Wednesday.
According to sources, 13 employees of Uch Power Plant were going to Sukkur when armed men intercepted them in Mangoli area at gunpoint and kidnapped them.
When contacted, the power plant officials said the three employees who were travelling to Sukkur from Uch Power in Nasirabad were kidnapped by armed militants.
Security forces and police team reached the Mangoli area and started a search operation, but could not trace the kidnapped employees and the kidnappers. Nasirabad Deputy Commissioner Suhailur Rehman told media persons that it had not been confirmed from where the employees had been kidnapped. “The kidnapped employees phoned the Uch Power Plant office and said they were being taken towards mountainous area by armed people,” he said, adding the phone call was made from Jacobabad.
The DC said the drivers and cleaners of passenger vans on Sukkur-Nasirabad route were investigated, but they did not confirm any such incident.
IRAN FIRES MORTAR SHELLS IN MASHKAIL
The Iranian security forces once again violated Pakistani border by firing mortar shells in Mashkail. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
According to sources, the Iranian security forces fired four mortar shells that landed and exploded with a huge blast in the desolated areas of Mashkail. Luckily no loss of life and damages to property was reported in the attacks. Sources said the rockets were fired on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday that spread panic and fear among the people.
Residents of Mashkail strongly protested and demanded the government for taking serious notice of border violation by the Iranian forces. It may be mentioned here that a few week backs, the Iranian forces had fired mortar shells that landed near Mashkail. The Balochistan government had also taken up the issue with the federal government.
