SIALKOT -The Child Protection & Welfare Bureau has adopted the children who were put on sale by their mother on Saturday because of poverty. However, Muhammad Bilal, an addict and father of the children, said his wife - Shamim - had put their children on sale over a domestic dispute and not because of poverty. He said this while talking to Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Mansha Ullah Butt, who reached Government Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Hospital Sialkot to inquire after him. On this occasion, Medical Superintendent Dr Zafar Awan said that all the medicines and medical treatment was being given to Bilal. Earlier, Shamim put her three children Amina (2), Waqar (6) and Waqas (8) on sale in Sialkot Kutchery, saying that she was unable to feed her children in such sky-rocketing price hike. She remained unable to get any buyer for them. She said that no one took notice of this sale offer. She alleged that no medicines were available at the said hospital and she has no money to feed her children and buy medicines for her husband.
