2 militants killed amid search operation

PESHAWAR - Two militants associated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban were killed while an assistant sub-inspector of police got martyrdom in an operation against militants at the Sheikh Nala area in Mattani Police precincts on Thursday.
According to details, police and security forces launched a search operation in Mattani area early in the morning and also entered the Frontier Region (FR). During the operation, police spotted two militants who had taken shelter in a house.
The forces surrounded the house and asked the militants to surrender but they opened fire at security forces.
During the clash, the security forces killed both the combatants identified as Rooh-ul-Amin and Adnan alias Abu Huraira.  Elite Force ASI Duad Khan was killed by militants and an FC constable sustained injuries.
Police officials said that the operation was launched after dozens of militants attacked a security check post at the Jani Kor area near Peshawar in which six FC personnel were killed and eight others injured the other day. Police said that one of the two killed men was the brother of wanted militant commander Jangrez, who was nominated in the Badhaber explosion which killed 18 people last week, while the other one was involved in attacks in and around Peshawar.
5 soldiers dead in NWA blast
Online adds: At least five security personnel were killed and three were injured in a suicide attack at Bowia checkpost in North Waziristan on Thursday.
According to security officials, the suicide bomber ran an explosives-laden vehicle into the security checkpost, leaving five security personnel dead. At least three others were seriously injured, they added.
