LAKKI MARWAT - Expressing concern over delay in implementing the second phase of four-tier promotion formula, Provincial General Secretary of Subject Specialists Association Muhammad Naeem Khan said on Friday that Provincial Selection Board (PSB) in a recent meeting on June 29 ignored the promotion cases of hundreds of school cadre officers.
In a statement, he said the PSB took up and approved promotion cases of the officers of higher education, agriculture and health departments. "But the long awaited promotion cases of school cadre officers of elementary and secondary education department were deferred," he lamented.
He said the posts of principals in BPS-18 and 19 in public sector schools were vacant since long, affecting teaching, learning, administrative and financial affairs in the educational institutions.
"The government gives utmost priority to the education sector but on the other side the subject specialists, headmasters and principals are being denied of their due right of promotion to higher scales," he maintained.
Naeem said that delaying tactics on part of higher quarters concerned would cause spread of unrest among school officers community. He asked the provincial government to convene a special meeting of PSB to accord approval to the promotion cases of school officers.
