KARACHI - A cop of the Excise and Taxation police was gunned down when he along with the squad raided the Ayub Goth locality within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station on Friday evening. Police said that deceased Zaheer, 40, along with the squad headed by assistant excise and taxation officer Wasim, carried out a raid in Ayub Goth locality where they faced strong retaliation by the culprits. The area where this incident took place is an Afghan dominated area and the E&T officials and personnel raided there on a tip-off but the culprits were already prepared when the E&T team arrived there. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
