15 IEDs recovered in Kurram

PARACHINAR - Security forces in a timely action in Sadda area of Kurram Agency foiled a major terrorism bid by the militants as they recovered 15 IEDs that were laid for attacks on the personnel of law-enforcement agencies.
According to officials, political authorities of Kurram Agency received information that terrorists have laid large number of IEDs at different points on Dama Khurd Road near Sadda.
On receipt of information, Tehsildar Lower Kurram Ali Zai Akbar Iftikhar and Levies Force officials reached the spot and surrounded the area. They seized the explosive devices planted there.
40 SUICIDE VESTS SEIZED
Monitoring Desk adds: Security forces on Sunday seized 40 suicide vests at the Torkham border which were being smuggled into Pakistan from Afghanistan.
According to a private TV channel, the suicide jackets did not contain any explosives, but were being transported to Pakistan with the intention of being used for suicide missions.
The officials said that the Khasadar force personnel have also arrested an Afghan national who was smuggling the jackets into Pakistan.
The accused has been shifted to Landi Kotal jail where authorities are further investigating the matter.
