QUETTA - As many as seven people were wounded in a hand grenade attack in Usta Muhammad area of Jaffarabad district on Saturday. Unidentified armed men riding motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at a shop and escaped from the scene immediately. Resultantly, seven people sustained injuries when the grenade exploded with huge blast.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment where they were identified as Shabir, Munir, Majid, Ghulam Sarwar, Riaz, Shahid, and Muhammad Khan.
“The shop was damaged and the glasses of nearby shops were also smashed in the blast,” a police official said. Soon after the incident, local administration officials reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation to arrest attackers.  No group claimed responsibility for the hand grenade attack.
FC REJECTS CAPTIVITY OF IRANIANS INSIDE BALOCHISTAN
The kidnapped Iranian security guards were kept on Iranian soil and their release became possible through Iranian mediators. According to sources, Frontier Corps (FC) has strongly denied the impression that Iranian security guards were kept hostage in Balochistan.
“For the release of abductees and mediation, elders of Iranian tribe, Shah Bakhsh, played an important role,” the sources said, adding that the guards were handed over to Iran through the elders of same Shah Bakhsh tribe. The FC sources said the Iranian guards were kept on Iranian territory during the whole captivity and the Corps strongly rejected the notion that their recovery was made in Pakistan.
Over two months back an extremist organisation Jaish al-Adl had kidnapped five Iranian border guards at Iranian border and killed one of them before setting free the remaining captives.
