Celebrations continue to mesmerise Sindhis

KARACHI The colourful activities of cultural celebration continued on Sunday across the province to show love with motherland. The political parties, civil society organisations and media houses took out colourful rallies and the people looked enthusiastic wearing Sindhi Cap and Ajrak. In response to a call to celebrate unity day on December 5, a grand gathering held outside the Karachi Press Club, where caravans of political parties and civil society organisations reached. The people observed enthusiastic who looked dancing on Sindhi folk songs, spreading message of love towards motherland of Sindh province. The men and women created human chains as symbol of unity to show love with Sindhi culture and its history, which is pride for the people of the province. However, a huge rally of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz led by its leaders reached Karachi Press Club. Workers of different parties carrying party flags were chanting slogans for the due rights of the province. Leaders of the JSQM speaking to rally said that before partition, Sindh was a separate country, having thousands of years culture and history. A caravan of Awami Tehreek comprising hundreds of the workers reached Press Club in the leadership of Advocate Mazhar Rahojo and Sindhiani Tehreeks central leader Saleha Gopang, showing solidarity and love towards Sindhi culture. Besides, a big colourful rally of Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) led by its chairman Muhammad Ali Shah started from Ibrahim Hyderi, which culminated at the Press Club. Fishermen, women and children wearing Sindhi Ajrak and Sindhi dresses, emotionally charged on the tune of the Sindhi songs and expressed their enthusiasm in form of dancing. Chairman PFF Muhammad Ali Shah said that fishermen community said that people of Sindh have proved that they have true affection and love with their culture. Besides, other groups of other political parties including MQM, Sindh Tarqi Passand Party, Jeay Sindh Mutahidda Mahaz, Awami Jamhori Party, Sindh Dost Ittehad and others participated in cultural celebrations. The Government of Sindh and political parties and media houses celebrated Sindhi Culture Day on December 4, while government declared this day public holiday every year. But, a Sindhi media group gave a call to celebrate Sindh Unity Day on December 5, however, people of Sindh putting all the differences aside celebrated unity day with same zeal and zest in the province.
