3 kidnappers killed in shootout

KARACHI - The Anti-Violent Crime Cell with the help of Citizens Police Liaison Committee claimed to have killed three members of outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan during a shootout erupted after an attempt to secure the release of abducted industrialist Ahmed Chinoy who was kidnapped from Landhi Industrial Zone in Quaidabad on October 8. Two policemen namely Raees Baloch and Abdul Sattar were also wounded in the shootout, who were shifted to the JPMC. Officials said that the kidnappers had demanded Rs70 million however, after negotiations Rs20 million was agreed for the release. Meanwhile, the AVCC and CPLC team conducted a raid when the kidnappers called the family of the abducted industrialist to collect the ransom amount. The raid ensued by a shootout between the officials and the culprits. The officials also claimed to have recovered a huge cache of explosive and weapons including 20-kg of explosive, four hand-grenades and three TT pistols from the possession of the deceased kidnappers. The abducted industrialist was recovered from a rented house in Allah Wala Town in Korangi where he was kept detained. AVCC SP Ghulam Subhani said that the kidnappers killed in the shootout belonged to the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban, Punjab while raids for their more accomplices were being carried out. The bodies were taken to the JPMC for legal formalities where none of them was identified as till filing of this news story.
