Rescue 1122 highlights volunteers' role
 
 
 

RAWALPINDI - Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 celebrated World Volunteers Day 2013 in all districts of Punjab on the directions of its Director General (DG) Dr Rizwan Naseer to show solidarity with volunteers all over the world and highlighting the importance of volunteers' contribution for establishing safer communities in their respective jurisdictions.
DG Rescue 1122 in his message for volunteers applauded all people who offered their services voluntarily for betterment of their communities. He appreciated the commitment and impact of volunteers work for making the safer societies around the world. He said that Rescue 1122 was the largest emergency humanitarian service in Pakistan providing a government platform to hundreds of volunteers to share their skills, knowledge and contribute towards development of safer communities. Dr Rizwan further said that volunteers were driven by a desire to contribute to the well-being of their society, without expectation of material reward, and their efforts promote civic values and social cohesion.
