ISLAMABAD - Minister for Communication, Dr Arbab Alamgir, has said that Ministry has sent NHA Chairman on long leave and appointed Muhammad Junaid as Acting Chairman National Highway Authority. "I have sent Chairman NHA Altaf Chaudhary on leave and appointed Muhammad Junaid as Acting Chairman," the Communication Minister told The Nation. Muhmamd Junaid was performing as Member Finance and his orders have been notified. However, Ministry sources said that he was sent on forced leave and there was a remote possibility of his return. In the first phase Altaf was sent on two months leave and later the Chairman will be changed, they added. It would not be out of place to mention here that earlier Altaf had already given extension for the seat of NHA Chairman. When contacted, Altaf Chaudhary confirmed that he was on leave of two months and after the leave will rejoin NHA. "I am on long leave but not leaving NHA," he added.
