Impounded vehicles rusting in dump


NANKANA SAHIB – The lethargy of police department is a well-known fact to all and sundry but the department is also not interested in averting this image.
According to details, anti-vehicle department impounded eight vehicles during checking with tampered chassis numbers. It might be possible that these caught vehicles were used in some criminal activities and now standing in the office of anti-vehicle lifting office.
The detail of the vehicles with the concerned police station include: Honda City (LWJ-2351) of Civil Lines Police Station, Gujranwala; Suzuki Mehran (IDK-4494) of Raja Bazar Police Station, Rawalpindi; Suzuki Mehran (LZS-1223) of Factory Area Police Station, Lahore; Suzuki Mehran (LWB-5885) of Shahdara Mor Police Station, Lahore; Suzuki Mehran (LEF-3886) of Sabzazar Police Station, Lahore; Suzuki Mehran (LWJ-3065) of Samanabad Police Station, Lahore; Coure (AQB-884) of Aziz Bhatti Police Station, Karachi and Honda Civic (ALB-257) of Aziz Bhatti Police Station, Karachi.
The concerned police stations officers were also informed in this matter but neither anyone even bothered to contact and provide any solid proof for help in investigation nor return the vehicles to their genuine owners.
Anti-vehicle Lifting Cell In-charge Inspector Mirza Latif Baig have requested DPO Dr Haider Ashraf for onward request to the DPOs of the same police stations to get their caught vehicles back from this office which were standing since long.
