MULTAN - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi lamented on Thursday that the leaders in national political circuit were more businessmen than politicians who delivered serious damage to national interests.
“They do politics here and business abroad. They are busy in inflating the balances of foreign banks while emptying national banks. Still they claim that they are our leaders. We don’t accept such leaders,” he added while addressing the participants of a function. On the occasion, Senior lawyer and principal of Multan Law College announced joining PTI.
He said that neither the country was unfortunate nor short of resources rather it was badly fleeced by corrupt leadership. “They have stolen redness from the faces of poor citizens,” he maintained. He regretted that the prevailing system of injustice and corruption got our coming generations indebted. “This country has many leaders but no true —————-” he added.
He lashed out at the looters of national wealth. “They plunder national resources, make properties and then get written Qurnic verses on them,” he regretted. He said that a wave of change took place in the country after a hectic struggle of 15 years by Imran Khan. He admitted that the youth played as catalyst for change as the recent wave started from them and influenced the older generation. “Now no one can stop this process. It has turned into a Tsunami which will wipe out this rotting system and its pillars,” he claimed.
He said that those joining PTI including him had burnt their ships and broke the crutches of the rule. “We’ve got into the ground and we’ll stay shoulder-to-shoulder with the youth in this travel of change,” he pledged.
He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif talked about establishment of army courts for improving Karachi situation in 1997. “But I opposed this suggestion and asked him not to develop such a trap in which we may get stuck in future,” he added. He said that these courts were later on abolished by the Supreme Court otherwise the politicians had also been hanged by these courts.
He said that the habit to speak truth had brought him to this point. “Even I have told Imran Khan that I’ll continue to speak truth,” he added. To a query, he said that he was sick for the last four years and even he could not speak properly. “But the passion and sentiments are not dependent on words,” he noted. He said that he was fighting the war of principles for the last 40 years during which both PPP and PML-N as well as army remained in power. “We haven’t withdrawn despite all odds. We’ll continue this struggle,” he resolved.
