PAKPATTAN - Divisional Commissioner Qazi Mohammad Ashfaq has took serious notice of the slow pace of work on the going development projects in Pakpattan district.
He was chairing a meeting held at DCO office to discuss various developmental projects, improvement in the management and other relevant issues here the other day. He said that the Punjab government was taking steps to initiate development projects to strengthen accountability, transparency, services delivery and citizen satisfaction regarding the rural development. The Punjab government has approved Rs522 million for development of the district.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the nation building departments to supervise development schemes for ensuring their timely and transparent completion. He said that the development projects should be completed in the end of March according to the time frame.
On the occasion, the participants of the meeting were briefed that 85 projects under the Punjab Development Programme with Rs272 million had started and 12 projects completed according to time frame. Under the programme, a Gyne/Children ward at the cost of Rs50 million, a road project from Rakhpul to Kumhariwala and sewerage system in Qaboola Town at the cost of Rs660 million would be constructed. He said the high standard of infrastructure should be ensured and drains should be an essential feature of all sewerage projects.  The Commissioner also directed the EDO Works and Services to blacklist those contractors who were not working properly.
