RAWALPINDI - The city police have so far failed to recover the Bahria Town’s accountant, who was abducted on June 28, 2012 close to his house located at the National Housing Scheme on Adyala Road.
According to an application filed by kidnapped accountant’s brother, Shehzad Afzal, with the Police Station (PS) Saddar Bairooni, his brother Iftikhar Afzal, who is an accountant in Bahria Town, had left his house in his car for his office when 6 men, four of them boarding a Mehran car while two others on a bike, intercepted his brother and pulled him out. Later, the kidnappers pushed Iftikhar into their car and taken him away, he mentioned. He mentioned in the application that an eyewitness had provided him all the information on the basis of which he approached police for legal action against the kidnappers and for recovery of his brother.
The applicant also accused one Tahir alias Tahiri and his accomplices of kidnapping Iftikhar as Iftikhar filed two cases against Tahir for illegally occupying his (Iftikhar) house measuring 1 kanal at Chakri.
The police, taking action, filed a case and initiated interrogation.
Sub Inspector (SI) Tariq Mehmood Gondal, who is probing the kidnapping case, when contacted, said that the police was still busy in tracing out the kidnappers with number of raids on various localities to recover the Bahria Town accountant.
He said that the police had retrieved the mobile data of the kidnapped accountant and would be able to reach out to the kidnappers soon.
He said that police was also conducting raids at possible hideouts of Tahir and his accomplices to nab them. On a query, the SI replied that the family of the kidnapped accountant yet not be contacted by the kidnappers.
