ISLAMABAD (APP) - Director General of Pakistan Meteorological Department Arif Mehmood on Sunday predicted that monsoon season will start in the first week of July and will last till September 15. He said this year monsoon rainfall will be normal and rain will occur after gap of three to four days. The Met Office on Sunday predicted mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country for next 24 hours. However, isolated rain with dust-thundershower is expected in Kashmir and adjoining areas. The plain areas of the country will remain under the grip of severe heat wave conditions. The highest maximum at Nawabshah and Dadu is 49 C. Maximum temperature recorded in other cities Islamabad 42 C, Peshawar 43, Lahore 42, Karachi 40, Quetta 36, Multan 45, Faisalabad 43, Gilgit 35 and Muree 28.
