DPC announced countrywide protest against drone attacks


AKORA KHATTAK  - The Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) on Tuesday announced launching of its mass protest movement from June 15 against US drone attacks.The protest movement would be kicked off with observance of black day on June 15 (Friday) across the county while rallies would be taken out in four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. A big procession would be taken out in Peshawar, on June 17, followed by a workers’ convention at Lal Mosque on 17 June and all parties’ conference at Muzaffarabad on July 14 while on July 15, a public gathering would be held. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Council chairman Maulana Samiul Haq and attended by its coalition leaders including JI amir Syed Munawar Hassan, Liaqat Baloch, Shabbir Baloch, chief of Jammat ul Dawah Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, Maulana M Ahmed Ludhyanvi, Sardar Attiq of AJK Muslim Conference and others.The leaders agreed to address the issues of load shedding, killing of innocent people in Karachi and Balochistan and corruption issue during their protest campaign and also demanded of resignation from the provincial governments.The leaders also condemned government’s joint ventures with India and said that it was aimed at abdicating the Kashmir issue and rights over water.They claimed that through Wagha border trade, access to Nato had been given through this routes.They also expressed their lack of trust in the so called opposition parties in the parliament.
