Interior ministry rejects Sanaullahs claim

ISLAMABAD - Federal Ministry of Interior has categorically denied issuance of any visa to any set up by the name of Blackwater as claimed by Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister, Punjab. This is a totally false, ill-founded and concocted statement made by Rana Sanaullah with ulterior motives best known to him, says a press release issued by the ministry. The Ministry of Interior has said that according to the record available with the Government of Pakistan, there was no such company registered or operating in Pakistan. Ministry of Interior will appreciate if Rana Sanaullah has got the moral courage to present this evidence if any to the concerned Section Officer in the Ministry who will be waiting for his arrival and reception in the Ministry of Interior, says the official hand out. Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior has further clarified that there was a proper process for the issuance of visas to foreigners of all categories. Applications are received from Ministry of Foreign Affairs in most of the cases and these are vetted by the agencies for clearance and also some of the visas are issued by the respective Pakistani Missions abroad, he said. He said the Ministry of Interior reserved the right to take cognisance of this concocted and malafide statement injuring the national interests and hence if the false statement was not withdrawn in 48 hours. The ministry has instructed its legal consultant to serve legal notice on the minister concerned for issuing such a malicious, malafide and scandalous statement to create distrust amongst the people of Pakistan about the functions of the ministry.
