ASWJ workers being killed in fake shootouts, says Ludhianvi

TOBA TEK SINGH - Ahle Sunnat Waljamaat (ASWJ) Chief Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhinavi has condemned the government crackdown on ASWJ workers across the country and said that if the action was not stopped the ASWJ would oppose both the PPP and PML-N in upcoming general elections.
Talking to the media here, he said that his party members were being killed in fake shootouts, adding that such tactics could not dent the courage and commitment of ASWJ workers.
He alleged that more than 400 activists of defunct Lashkar-i-Jhangvi were detained in crackdown throughout the Punjab. He denied foreign funds, saying his party was not an agent of any external power.
Criticising the statements of Interior Minister Rehman Malik, he said that although the Federal Interior Minister always claimed and predicted happening of terrorist activities, it was not understandable why he did not reveal who were involved in such activities. He demanded implement of recommendations made by all party conference regarding elimination of terrorism from country.
