NGO donates 44 homes to flood victims


MUZAFFARGARH - A UK-based international relief and development organisation, Muslim Charity, has completed a model village over 2.5 acres of land in Ehsanpur Union Council of Muzaffargarh for the flood affected people.
The project was conceptualized, planned and developed by Muslim Charity in association with the Punjab government’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
The Muslim Charity Model Village consists of 44 houses, a mosque, dispensary, park, playground and a school. The model village will accommodate over 259 people badly affected by the 2010 floods. The model village has been built at a cost of 260,000 US dollars funded by the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy (IRFAN).
The chief guest of the ceremony was Khawaja Salman Rafiq while the Special Asstistant to the Punjab Chief Minister for Health, CEO of the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy Abdul Majed, Pir Muhammad Mazhar Hussain, President Muslim Charity Pakistan and Muslim Charity’s Vice President and internationally renowned Nasheed recite Junaid Jamshed were also present.
In addition, Muslim Charity’s CEO Saboohuddin said that the model village is one of the ongoing rehabilitation projects of Muslim Charity in Pakistan and we are working on similar large scale project in Rahim Yar Khan as well which would be completed in June this year.
 He said that the floods badly affected the Muzaffargarh district and we feel proud to hand over the model village to the deserving people.
