JI urges govt to shoot down drones

Jamaat-e-Islami District Ameer Maulana Abdul Malik Shaheed, former JI candidate for PP-86 Dr Zahid Sattar, District Kissan Board President Sufi Mohammad Rashid and Tehsil Ameer Mufti Sanaullah have said that the continuous drone attacks by US in the country were in fact attack on Pakistan’s sovereignty.
They demanded the government to inform the US that it should stop drones if it wanted safe exit from Afghanistan. “All accords with US regarding strategic partnership ended after first drone attack,” they said. They suggested to the government to issue directives for shooting down drones and closure of Nato supply.
“US wants to take revenge from Pakistan for its defeat in Afghanistan through drones,” they said. They vowed to start movement against drones in every nook and cranny of the country.
Farmers stage protest : Farmers of Chak 725-GB staged a protest on the Gogera Branch canal’s distributory bridge near Kamalia over non-supply of irrigation water to their lands by the Irrigation Department here the Monday.
Addressing the protesters, Faiz Ahmad and Muhammad Ijaz claimed that water supply did not reach to the water coursed of their village as the influential growers of other villages steal the water in the way by shutting their outlets.
They said that their crops were being ruined as a result and warned that if the situation continued they would be forced to besiege the Irrigation Department offices in Kamalia.
