Three killed and 8 injured in Bannu convoy attack

Three security personnel were killed and 8 others injured when a security forces convey was attacked in Bakakhel area near FR Bannu on Sunday morning.
The security vehicle was targeted through a remote controlled blast near Mirzal Checkpost and the blast destroyed the vehicle killing one solider on the spot and injured 10 others. Two security personnel later died on way to hospital.
Official sources have confirmed that 3 soldiers have died and the 8 others injured in the attack early morning.
The Ansarul Mujahideen militant group of Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Spokesman for the Ansarul Mujahideen Abu Baseer speaking from an undisclosed location told that their fighters have targeted the convoy.
"As long as drone attacks are carried out in Pakistan, they would continue their attacks and target security forces and the administrative machinery of the Pakistani government," he remarked.
A curfew was imposed in the area following the blast. The injured were taken to Bannu Combined Military Hospital, where the hospital management declared the injured out of danger.
Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near a check post in Karkhano market went off, injuring one security personnel in Peshawar.
