30 suspected militants killed in FC operation in Balochistan

KHUZDAR/KALAT- At least 30 suspected militants were killed, 10 security personnel injured, several vehicles of miscreants destroyed as Frontier Corps (FC) conducted targeted operation against outlaws today. Huge cache of arms, explosives and hand grenades were recovered during the action.

FC Balochistan spokesman Khan Wasey said that the paramilitary force backed by other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and local administration launched the targeted operation against militants in different areas of Khuzdar and Kalat districts of Balochistan. During the crackdowns exchange of fire took place as outlaws showed resistance. In FC and LEAs personnel retaliatory actions more than 30 miscreants were reported killed while six vehicles of the miscreants were also destroyed.

The FC spokesperson said that ten security personnel also sustained injuries during the operation. He claimed that the targeted miscreants were involved in recent attacks on passenger trains, security forces and other vital installations in different parts of the province. Security forces recovered huge cache of arms including rocket launchers, hand grenades, heavy automated weapons and ammunition from the possessions of the militants.

The situation in the area was tense as the clash between security forces and armed militants continued. Kalat and Khuzdar are considered to be the most sensitive districts of Balochistan. Militants in the area have been targeting vital national installations and security forces for last more than a decade in the area.
