The Punjab government has decided to hold evening classes at intermediate and graduation levels in 25 colleges of Gujranwala Division which consists of districts Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala.
Director Colleges Gujranwala Division Ghulam Sarwar told newsmen that the education of all the subjects of intermediate and graduation would be imparted during the evening classes. He said admissions would be given purely on merit. Evening classes timing will start from 12:00pm to evening. He said that the services of retired teachers from government colleges and private colleges’ educatees will be hired.
REPORT PREPARED: Rachna University Jora and the research centre of Engineering University Lahore have prepared a joint feasibility report for establishment of a 2 megawatts power plant at a local canal near village Jora Chora, situated at the junction of two Sialkot and Gujranwala districts. They have sent the feasibility report to the Punjab government for its final approval. According to officials, total cost of the project would be Rs50 million, out of which Rs20 million would be spent for affixing the advanced power-generating turbines at the canal.
