A youth has shot dead his sister after just five days of her love marriage in bordering village Kingra-Sabzpeer of Pasrur tehsil.
Manzoor Hussain’s daughter Anam, 18, had solemnised marriage with Akhtar according to her own will five days ago. Her brother Mujahid Hussain brought her to her parents’ home for patch-up on July 5 and shot her dead.
Police handed over the body to the family for burial after her autopsy at a local hospital. She was laid to rest amid sobs and tears in her native graveyard.
It was the third such incident took place during the last 10 days in Sialkot district. On June 4, two accused Shahid Butt and Fahad Butt shot dead their cousin Madeeha Mushtaq, 23, for contracting love marriage took place three months ago in village Nangal Mirza.
Earlier, newlywed Sajjad Ahmed and Mafia were beheaded by the girl’s family for contracting love marriage in village Satrah of Daska tehsil just a week after their love marriage.
Satrah police had arrested four accused Bashiran Bibi (mother of the slain girl), Ghulam Hussain (grandfather) and two uncles Iqbal Hassan and Shamshad in the case. These accused were under Daska police custody on a week-long physical remand.
