Legend newsreader Shamim Ijaz to be remembered tomorrow

ISLAMABAD- The fifth death anniversary of legend newscaster Shamim Ijaz is being observed on Tuesday.
She had died in Karachi on this day in 2009 after protracted illness. She was 85. Shamim Ijaz, besides news reading, was popular with armed forces personnel for her programme Fauji Bhaiyon Kayliye. She also worked for Deutsche Welle in Germany for some time. She was the sister of Urdu novelist and poet Waheeda Nasim. Shamim Ejaz whose voice is still fresh in the ears of radio listeners will be long remembered as a symbol of Radio Pakistan.
