Islamabad- Federal Minister for information and broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid, lauding the sacrifices rendered by Internally Displaced Persons of North Waziristan Agency, said the IDPs had abandoned their homes, land and property for peace. He said the government was making all possible efforts to facilitate IDPs in their camps in Bannu.
Talking to Media in his Chamber at Parliament House on Monday, Information Minister said the government was committed to eliminating terrorism, extremism from the North Waziristan.
The IDPs would be rehabilitated in their homes soon, He resolved. He said the government was distributing money more than the average monthly income of common Pakistanis. He further said the security forces were carrying out military operation ‘Zarb-E-Azb’ and soon the area would be cleared of terrorists.
Federal Minister further said the government was striving hard to serve the nation and it was the great achievement of the PML-N that no body could bring any scam against the government’s one year performance. He regretted that the opposition had made great propaganda over the non issue of interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Talking about the recent bans on Geo and ARY channels over violation of PEMRA regulations, Information Minister said the Geo had accepted the PEMRA decision and paid the fine, but other 22 TV channels had sought ‘stay order’ to evade PEMRA.
He urged the media houses to respect PEMRA regulations. He further called upon all media houses to formulate their own code of conduct to smoothly run the transmissions following the ethics.
Over a question regarding high inflation and rising prices in the Holy month of Ramzan, Pervaiz Rashid said the government had levied no new taxes and the price hike was caused by widening gap between ‘demand and supply’. ‘Federal Cabinet has nothing to do with the price of potato, but the government have brought sugar and flour prices down’ information minister concluded.
